Shannon Bono produces symbolic and figurative compositions that position blackness and womanhood as a source of knowledge and understanding, advocating for the presence of black bodies and culture. In re-imagining these bodies as sites of modernity, she resists colonial narratives and proposes the body as an integralmconduit of strength, symbolism, and vulnerability.
