'there will be time, there will be time' presents four new large-scale photographic prints by Cath Campbell. Each image captures a moment from a video of a stranger’s tour of the Empire State Building, found by the artist on YouTube. Subtitled by Google translate, the original narrative accompanying the video is transformed into something strangely compelling and poetic. Divorced from their original language and visual progression, the images become cinematic escapes into the unknown. Using virtual means to travel the world, Cath Campbell appropriates found images, films and stories, to create scenarios of vicarious adventure and exploration, deliberately challenging notions of truth, reality and desire.
