After the fact,

Found dust and sound
About this work
After the fact 2006 Found dust and sound Dimensions variable Commissioned by Beacon Art Project, Lincolnshire Budget: £5000 plus material and travel expenses After the fact was an installation produced in a derelict Grade II listed Georgian farmhouse in Bicker Lincolnshire. Over a period of two weeks the dust that had gathered on the floor, since it’s abandonment in the 1960’s was meticulously cleaned, and the exposed wooden floor polished to create a sumptuous pattern dating from 1776, when the house was built. The work was made in silence, and the sound of the cleaning process was recorded, this was then played quietly back into the space, filling the room with the continuous and futile sound of cleaning.
