About this work
Polychroming is an ongoing series of work which takes principles from post-production workflows, inverts and misinterprets them, approximates them using 'poor' materials, and uses them in a painterly and intuitive way.
Whereas the proper application of the referenced techniques results in a photoreal and believable environmental image - e.g. a landscape or an interior scene where computer generated images meld seamlessly with photographic material - here, the direct referent of a landscape or a figure is removed and we are left with the afterimage or a suggestion of space and the emotional play of light within it.
