Noel Clueit, pick up / try again, 2018 onwards

pick up / try again are a guessed effort in reproducing Martine Bedin’s super lamp designed for Italian design group Memphis in 1981.

The first lamp was made in 2008, it’s a work Clueit was only familiar with via images in art and design books, something he couldn’t own so he made his my own. 

With only knowing the object as an image the proportions remain guessed. Each lamp is an attempt, it’s like skateboarding, or like design, something he wishes to be better at but without wanting to get too formal about things.
