Olivia Jia

This painting is a collage of memories and thoughts in which Jia blends together real and surreal elements. The artist constructs her paintings by building up layers, starting with a few focal points and slowly working around and on top of them. Hidden behind the top sheet of the album depicted in the painting we glimpse the edges of another set of images - an allusion to an entirely different set of possibilities and memories.
